TRAFFIC REGULATIONS AND PENALTIES: STATEMENTS ON NEW REGULATIONS AND SANCTIONS

During the introduction of the Judicial Reform Strategy, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed important issues. Erdoğan announced that after the new regulations, heavy penalties will be imposed on aggressive drivers in traffic.

DRIVER'S LICENSE CANCELLATION POLICY

Erdoğan emphasized that according to the new regulation to be implemented by the Ministry of Interior, the driver's licenses of individuals who get out of their vehicles to attack other drivers in traffic will be cancelled.

INCREASED PENALTIES FOR FIRING WEAPONS

The President stated that penalties for firing weapons at engagement parties, weddings, and military send-off events will be increased. Additionally, he mentioned that tough penalties will be imposed on individuals who block traffic during such events.

NEW REGULATIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH CRIMINAL RECORDS

Erdoğan indicated that significant changes will be made to the criminal records of individuals with a history. He announced that the time period for the deletion of criminal records will be shortened, especially for children. Moreover, he stated that new mechanisms will be implemented to better protect children in legal processes and restorative justice practices will be initiated.
